I get upset when a stuffed animal or toy is "mistreated."

  • Not pathetic, it's just having feelings. Several people have attachments to inanimate objects that are sentimental for any reason, such as being linked in a way to someone they care about. Also, stuffed animals are very anthropomorphized and resemble animals.

    • The OP isn’t talking about something that is their personal property or which has sentimental value to them, they are talking about stuffed toys being damaged on TV shows. It’s like people who cry when a dog dies in a movie but a whole lot worse.

      • Hey, I've cried when an animal dies in a movie, lol. Some people are just more emotional than others, nothing wrong with that.

I think it's the fact that stuffed animals are not only specifically made to resemble real animals, but also that so many people have ones they grew up with and have a sentimental attachment to.

      • Can't argue with that. Though I feel that way also because I had lots of stuffies as a kid.
