I shave my pubes with clippers so its not bare but really short. I don't do it because I'm trying to be perfect.
The main reason I do it is because it's more comfortable. I hate when my pubs get long and they're always tugging on my skin when they get caught on my leg or whatever. They also itch less when shaved down.
And last but not least, it makes my dick look a lot bigger.
I also expect women to be groomed down there. I don't mind if she's not bald, but no hair around the actual vaginal area, gross.
