I find it harder to lose weight or keep it off because i'm at home

I'm a stay at home mom, trying to lose weight. I dieted before getting pregnant, and found it much easier to lose weight when I was working because I didn't eat out of boredom. I really have to strive to busy myself instead of find a snack when I'm bored. When I was working, I was busy all the time, so...
Does anyone else feel like this?

Is It Normal?

  • I know how that feels. When you're forced to work and travel places, it's easy to motivate yourself. Choosing to exercise is a lot harder. Try finding something you enjoy that just so happens to include moving around and burning fat. That way you lose weight and resist the urge to eat out of lack of anything else to do.

  • I use to be like that. There is a trick to that. When you do groceries don't buy any snacks or unhealthy food. And when you get hungry and go look in the kitchen you won't find anything appetizing and you just won't eat. You can also change your diet to organic fruits and veggies, they are more filling and more tasty. You won't feel the urge to eat so much.

  • Yes that is normal regardless of gender, I find that it is easier to lose weight when I am away from home more as packing lunch gives you more control over what you eat and how much, especially since I tend to be on the cheap side and will avoid overpriced vending machines for snacks.

  • Sure thats real normal. Is there a parent-child drop in where you could meet other moms? They'll all be going through similar things. Good way to make new friends with lots in common & not be as bored/house bound.
