When a friend confides in you, you might personally disapprove but becoming extremely judgmental about something that does not effect you in the least, is frankly being a terrible friend.
Perhaps, but these sort of secrets belong more in a confessional or on a therapist's couch than unloaded on an unsuspecting friend. A lot of people here are being hard on OP but his friend was being quite selfish, presumptuous and ill respective of OP's boundaries if he was just expecting to be blindly accepted. If this so called "friend" really cared for OP and valued his friendship he could have at least asked him some leading questions to test the waters and see whether or not OP would be receptive to this sort of confiding.
Life is a two way street and there are two sides to this story.
I find a very good friend has paid for sex on a few occasions. IIN?

Well, OP's friend kind of invited him into his bedroom or a seedy hotel room by confiding in him in the first place.
