There does come a sense of pride knowing one understands that the crap they put out today (like Adele or Taylor swift) really does suck and that yesteryear's music is better.
When we are young, we tend to take a lot of pride in our music taste, if we are into music more than average.
Well except that one person who rocked out to Taylor Dayne. she must feel great shame.
