  • I always feel kinda drained and depressed after watching Requiem for a Dream, but I love that movie so much.

Parts of A Scanner Darkly too....

    • It's so strange that you should mention Requiem for a Dream, since that was the film I was alluding to in my comment. It's so miserable, isn't it? It just gets worse and worse:(. Great film, though, I liked it a lot.

      • Hehe, I wondered what movie you were talking about. And yeah, it's pretty bad... I don't watch it often because I'll probably end up either bawling or cowering in the arms of whoever I'm sitting next to. :/ Especially the one part with the girl...

But it's got to be that way. The spiral of heroin addiction is about as far from a feel good story as you can get.

        • Yeah, I agree, they couldn't have really got the message across with a happy ending. As depressing as it might sound, I actually like that there are films out there which don't try to put a positive twist on everything. It's not a film I can see myself watching often, but it does sort of linger.

          • I agree, I like films that echo reality at least to a certain extent. I don't think I've watched it in a couple years, and not sure when the next time will be though I'm sure I'll watch it again at some point.
