You sound like my husband. He's very affectionate with me. It's not cloying at all, I think it's lovely. Sometimes I feel bad because I'm not as affectionate towards him, but that's just my personality.
Just be yourself. If someone doesn't like it then they aren't right for you. No harm done. Move on.
