I feel like i am being spied on

I'm 19 year old female my boyfriend is 20, we live in a flat across from some old peoples houses and theres been this old lady sometimes I see her, sitting on her porch, drinking tea. But I've come to recently realize, shes been looking into our house as she does it. We dont have blinds we dont have the money to get some yet and it's only a rental in so I didn't think we had to get some until now. Our lounge and Spare room are the only two windows facing her house that she can see into, but each time I go into either, she usually comes out, sits on the porch and starts up looking into our place all over again. I'm genuinely creeped out. It's a small town despite this I dont think either me or my partner have ever spoken to her, I don't know why she does it and I haven't spoken to my partner about it yet. I assume that if he knew about her looking in at us, that he would of told me by now, I dont know what to do but I feel like our privacy is being violated by our nosey old neighbor.

This for sure. With a cup of tea. Take a sip every time she does.

I used to have a neighbor that would stare at me all the time when I lived in the city.

I would blow kisses at him to get him to leave me alone

This was back when I wasn’t afraid of getting my ass kicked

I’m always looking for a fight. I suffer from “little dog syndrome”.

          • Sounds like hes the type of person you'd wouldn't mind him giving you that reaction back, but this lady's just outright creepy I wouldn't want her blowing me kisses XD

Tell your landlord what's up, and ask if he, or she could install some cheap blinds.

I understand your feelings about this, but she's probably bored, lonely and curious. Believe me, neighbours can do far worse things than just look in in the direction of your home.

Net curtains ("sheers" in American English) are seen as old-fashioned in Britain and they may be that wherever you live, but putting those up would achieve both of your aims: giving you some privacy while not reducing the light in the room by much.

You should concoct a fake murder scene and see what happens.

Or set up a cardboard cutout Christmas party like home alone

Or just pretend to do something super gross and fucked up so she regrets seeing it and leaves them alone.

  • We also have curtains we can draw across but it feels like such a waste of natural light since we have houseplants that could do with it

Just tell her to stop looking. If she's got a brain, she'll stop.
