I feel like bad guys in movies aren't all that bad

I feel like the main character a lot of times does some stupid sh#t that pisses off the bad guy without them realizing it, and then the main character continues to be a jerk and ignorant egotistical bastard while the bad guy just reacts naturally and then everyone is supposed to feel bad for the main character because it's all about him and he got supposedly screwed over when he was being a gigantic dick and douchebag in the first place

I would be interested in hearing what movies in particular do that troupe.

Sounds like this trope is at work: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DesignatedHero

And maybe perhaps this one as well: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ProtagonistCenteredMorality

If you actually look at some movies, the bad guy isn't bad at all and the good guy is the useless and douchey

I agree and I will take it a step further. The same applies to real life most of the time. The "good guys" are the controlling, egotistical, assholes that have no problem fucking you over and the "bad guys" are often the ones the just got screwed over.

Of course there acceptions so I don't want to hear that stupid as fuck comment.

The karate kid is a good example of this. Just curious, can you name a few other movies that fits that example?
