I feel frustrated and trapped whenever i need to schedule something

Whenever I need to schedule something, I feel a lot of anxiety and basically "trapped" by the schedule. It could be something I don't look forward to (i.e. Doctor's appointment) or something I look forward to (i.e. a Party or social outing.) Especially in the case of the latter, once the event happens, I my anxiety subsides.

Regular recurring events scheduled (like going to work) has a minimal effect on my anxiety. It's just one time events that cause it.

If I have just 1 or 2 things scheduled in the next 2 weeks (which rarely is the case), it's no big deal. But having more than a couple events scheduled in the near future and I feel my heart pounding whenever I got sleep or sit down to relax.

Is It Normal?

  • I think that's just the pressure of meeting responsibility that's amplified if you're a highly anxious person.

  • I feel the same about making appointments and meeting etc... I guess it's just high anxiety..

  • I get anxious too because i worry about forgetting events or if something else comes up on the same day! I prefer flexible and spontaneous schedules. I think its probably just related to our personality types. :)
