I feel the exact same way. I sometimes have a little extra money, so I like to buy things like books and DVDs, and merchandise related to my favorite shows and movies. They've really added up over the years - so much that a lot of it is in storage (I'm kind of a shopaholic). But I never make Facebook statuses whenever I buy something new or post in other forums' "post about your latest purchase" threads because I'm scared that people will be jealous of me or consider me spoiled/rich.
That's a good idea anyway. Not just because it could come off as snobbish to brag about buying things, but.... it's also just not a good idea to let everyone know that you have stuff worth stealing.
I feel bad when I can afford something others can't, IIN?
