I feel awkward around remembrance sunday

Is it normal That around Remembrance Sunday or Veterans Day as the Americans call it, I as a veteran start to feel extremely nervous, awkward and slightly guilty that I only did one tour? So much so that I don’t attend any remembrance ceremonies or reunions

That's one more tour than a lot of people. Thank you for your service. Believe me you are not alone. There are a lot of people who show up at these events that haven't served a day I would call them fakes but I choose to believe that maybe they had a friend or relative who served. The quiet ones are the ones I respect most, there are always some glory/Pat on the back, seekers I once new a gentleman that talked a good story was in about eight different hot spots but only served 3 years, however, some of the incidents he was supposably involved in we're six to eight years apart. You served I thank you for that, you don't have to have some glorious story to go with it. But go to one or two events you might find there are a lot more people like yourself than you think.
