  • I think it's normal. Obsessive behavior gets old really fast, and can even be scary depending on what the person is obsessed with and how far they go with it.

I also think it is super annoying when people obsess over celebrities and "influencers"/YouTube personalities, etc., especially when they do it to the point of defending abhorrent behavior. Take Onision fans, for example (though sadly, I think a lot of those are teenage girls with poor upbringings or who are just naive, who maybe even are being groomed by him or men like him). Or pretty much any other famous person who does something undeniably wrong, yet their fans defend and make excuses for the behavior no matter what.

One obsession that's relatively harmless, but that I've never really understood, are fads. I've always liked what I like, regardless of whether or not it was currently in style, and that's that. It seems some people need to be told what to like and are obsessed over worrying about what others might think of them if they don't have the latest and so-called "greatest" of everything. The latest flavor of the month of car, phone, random overpriced brand name stuff that isn't even that great of quality for the price, overpriced coffee like Starbucks (like seriously, what is with the trend of people taking pictures of them holding their Starbucks cup in front of whatever they're trying to take a picture of, which never has anything to do with Starbucks or coffee in general? Nobody does it with McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Sonic, etc. cups, lol). That's actually a good one right there, the obsession over Starbucks of all things. It's not just a drink anymore, it's like a culture and a status symbol, and why? Honestly, do most people really care whether or not these people drink Starbucks?
