No, I don't think what you're doing is normal. I think that lying maliciously is bad, but it's more understandable than your hobby here.
It sounds to me like you have a creative spirit. You'd do well to direct your passion towards acting or writing. Your love for creating personas and storytelling would make you very good in these fields. Next time you think of a clever lie, why not try writing it down and making a short story?
There are healthy ways to satisfy your urges my friend. Lying to people (even without malicious intent) will damage your credibility as a person. You never want that for yourself (obviously).
