I eat no more than 5 grams of carbs per day

So, I don't like to consume carbs in general. All the foods I eat have <1g of carbs and I measure my servings to make sure I don't exceed the serving size. I know my body produces glucose from other sources but I'm talking about the food I consume right out. I started lifting recently so my muscles need the glucose from that protein. Carbs are everywhere so I eat them but I never exceed 10g.

Is It Normal?

  • Its fine. Idk if you are overweight now but it will melt the fat off your stomach really fast not eating carbs. For building muscle you need to focus more on consuming your body weight in protein. So if you are 200lbs eat 200g of protein. If you cant get that in buy pea protein and take 4 scoops a day. It tastes awful but it bloats you a lot less than whey protein and doesnt have so much calories. Its also cheaper.

    • Recently I've been looking at protein powders but most of them have a bunch of carbs. I was thinking collagen protein but there's not much choice in my supermarket. Pea protein sounds like it fits my needs, although I might have to look online.

      • Yeah make sure you get unflavored if ur doing low carbs. Unflavored whey protein is delicious but bloats you. The same company below also sales unflavored whey theyre the cheapest company in the USA and its made in USA.
