I agree, don't become one of those people they have to cut out of the house.

Look I'm depressed right now but if you don't at least try you are going to get worse and worse.

Breathe fresh air and feel the sun. It helps for depression and your self esteem. Plus you'll feel better for trying.

Small steps that seem insignificant can make a huge difference.

I wish I was 24 years old again. You got your whole life ahead of you. Try to focus on positive things get some applications in and look for a job that you like as surround yourself by positive people. Working on yourself takes time and effort and evolves over time. Let's put it this way, The human brain continues to want to do what it's doing. You sleep in bed all day and tell yourself you're a loser that you're going to believe it. But if you get yourself out there, try to eat healthier and make the effort to get some applications out your believe in yourself more end it will make a world of difference in your attitude towards yourself in the world. You're just at the beginning I wish I was 24 years old again good luck

Break things up into chunks. Otherwise all your problems pile into one insurmountable heap and it becomes paralysing.

So, for eg, do 5-10 minutes of exercise (start small). Your brain won't want to do it and will come up with reasons not to. So accept that, and say to yourself "I'm going to do this anyway". Try and jump in and just start doing it without thinking about it. Don't give your brain a chance to screw you over.

Maybe it would be a good idea to find a therapist or counselor to talk to as well. You need to start feeling better about yourself, because you're a worthwhile human being just like everybody else. Only you've probably managed to convince yourself otherwise - (which is easy to do in this day and age).

tl'dr Forget the bigger picture and just focus on one small thing at a time.

It's easy to be miserable: keep doing nothing.

Staying in bed will accelerate your decline. You need to get into a holding pattern that includes exercise like walking or biking. Exercise your mind with reading or a class. It's okay if you don't have a direction in life, but keep all your systems idling.

You need to lose some weight and get a job. You can lose weight by eating healthy and excersizing. Please don't starve yourself.

Good luck with losing weight and finding a job. :)

Best way to get through this is lose weight, get a job and trying to find a girlfriend or somebody to talk to. Normie.

While those things are good those goals are too large for a depressed person. Small things like going for a walk, showering, going to get a coffee and be around people are better first steps and become something to build upon.
