I don't talk to my dad anymore because of miscellaneous reasons , is that pretty much normal in our culture these days?

    I don't talk to my biological father either.
    I consider our relationship gone for a good portion of my life.

    its normal. only i dont think you should do that. try to strike up a conversation. i hate to say this, but if you dont, you'd be missing out on something big when he's gone.
