It's normal, very many people who have been bullied have got this problem. But at least you aren't being bullied anymore at the moment? You should try to go believe those compliments, even though it's hard. 9 out of 10 times people really mean it when giving a compliment, so the chance that they're sarsactic of lying is very small.
Well, all I can say is that those people who said you were ugly were lying, but the people giving compliments aren't.
