I dont believe in an afterlife and wonder is reincarnation possible?

IS anyone else afraid of reincarnation I am. Who is to say if religion is fake then what about reincarnation as a possibility of how we were created, we just are unable to have the consciousness from which we came to understand this is true because all the memories of what we were, were destroyed at the death of the other organism. If I hold a piece of wood in my hands its actually a real piece of wood. The wood itself does not know its wood because it lacks the biological components to have consciousness or understanding, but the wood is the wood it just cannot feel or comprehend its wood. Imagine being the wood. You cant because we only have experience being a conscious organism. But what if at one point part of the minerals from which first came together to form us was at one point or another was wood from a living tree. Or what about an animal like a zebra they are living breathing organism just like us that experience the world through which they are only able to comprehend. They are not very intelligent but they have instincts they rely on to survive. When a lion chases one of them down and tears it apart limb from limb a one conscious is actually experiencing that incident. That zebra will scream and kick and gurgle its own blood and it is consciously experiencing this in real time. The conscious organism feels its body and legs being slowly torn into and actually ripped apart. Just because it doesn’t have the intelligence to comprehend exactly why what happened happened. It still is an alive conscious organism that experienced that incident. Now who is to saw that if god is not real and there is no after life then if we die and are eaten by worms then maybe our minerals which are eaten by worms then are used to produce a new worm and now we are that conscious. We don’t have anywhere near the intelligence we had before but because we died and ceased to have our conscious awareness our minerals simply are used to create other conscious organisms. Maybe we are become those conscious entities but lack the intelligence to understand it. A plant is a living organism it doesn’t know hey im a plant growing in a certain location. We know that the plant is living and different plants have different properties, so whatever type of plant we were would then dictate what properties we would have and it is not a property of any plant to have an conscious awareness because we lack the biological components. If someone were to pour acid on us or set us on fire or deprive us of water or light for photosynthesis we would die and wither away and our minerals would spread around depending on a multitude of factors and maybe our minerals would then be turned into energy to create organism and who is to say that we aren’t that new conscious, because something is that conscious in order for it to exist something has to be perceiving that experience in real time, maybe its granny.
