I don't understand what makes my face ugly?

I keep getting called and I don't understand why.

I can see that my face is symmetrical, and other people have also told me that my face is symmetrical, but for some reason I'm still considered ugly.

And very often when people are asked to make a list of the prettiest girls, I'm rarely ever included.

I want to know what can make symmetrical faces so ugly and what can I do?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Ignore anyone making a “prettiest girls list” trust me you don’t actually want the attention of that “genre” of male.

Technically, OP said that they made those lists when they were asked to. If you're asked to make a list, you might as well answer.

Symmetrical doesn't always make someone better looking. Are your eyes too far apart? Get a hammer and knock them back into place.

Honestly, most people who call someone ugly to their face are intentionally trying to hurt them because they're insecure about themselves. Most of the time, they don't even believe that and are actually trying to make you feel bad about yourself because it's easier to put people down than to bring themselves up. Don't listen to those idiots.

I'm assuming you're still in high school? If so, this type of behavior is usually rampant, and don't worry about any lists of prettiest girls. Nobody's opinion is gospel when it comes to that, and high school boys usually wouldn't know a pretty girl if they saw one, lol.

No, but I did want to become one at one point, just college wasn't for me and I changed career paths!

Wth is a "prettiest girl list", how old are you and your friends? Anyway it sounds like very shallow people who would even come to think of doing things like that.
Ignore it. Beauty is subjective. I've found myself attracted to people not conventionally attractive myself because I saw something special in them.

There's someone for everyone. You'll start to feel much better about yourself when you learn not to give a flying rat's arse about what everyone else thinks.

Lose weight if you're chubby. A slim face looks better.

ugly is a social construct. there's no such thing as ugly. having these feelings is valid, though. but if you think about it, there's no particular reason why we think that things are "ugly" and "beautiful". for example, some people find lots of makeup beautiful and some don't, which just shows you that it's truly subjective; there's nothing objectively beautiful. so you shouldn't base your opinion of yourself on others' opinions. they should NOT tell you that. you're beautiful!!! one time my freshman year of high school this boy said i was ugly and it made me feel really bad about myself, but now lots of people tell me i'm really beautiful. my appearance didn't change that much; i just happened to be seeking validation from the wrong people.

There is no universal attractive. Attractiveness depends not just upon you but also the person looking at you. I have a Bangladeshi friend who is looked upon as the unattractive one in the family while her cousin is lauded. I don't think her cousin is attractive at all, and my friend is stunningly attractive. Her family just have different standards for attractive than I do. Neither of us are right or wrong.

I also have (or rather, had) a friend who was like a blonde Keira Knightley. Everyone knew how attractive she was, but nobody talked about it and men rarely approached her. She once said she sometimes felt unattractive and once had a professional photoshoot in lingerie (this isn't a recommendation, by the way) to make herself feel attractive.

Truth is, very few people actually believe themselves to be attractive, and virtually everybody is, at least to someone.

You and me girl. Symmetry is always the definition of beauty when it fits. My face is balanced but my nose is wider than most. And my eyes are further out. On paper i could be ugly, maybe I am? Acually I'm not, and neither are you.

A lot of ugly people are actually beautiful. Look at Mia Wasakowska. Her face is super janked and she's hot for a white celebrity?

    • My eyes are neither far apart from each other (wide set eyes) nor close to each other (close set eyes).

And my nose isn't so wide either. I've been told that it's actually small.
