I don't understand action movies

I'm in my mid twenties, pretty intelligent and good hearing. For example, I can understand rap lyrics.

But when I watch any action movie, (Bourne trilogy, superhero movie, James bond) I have no idea what's going on.

The dialogue is all basically whispers and I never know who they are or where they are or what they're trying to do.

I can still enjoy the films but yeah it's really challenging for me, to pickup anything beyond the characters names

Relax and enjoy the violence. Or do what I do, turn it off.

I think most modern action movies (for some weird reason) need an explosion every 5 seconds and some cheesy one-liners to sell.

    No substance otherwise.

You're better off than me, then. I can't hear or remember much names from movies, which is why I have to stick to books.

I'm the same way with a lot of movies, certain video games throw me off too, while everyone else seems to love em.

That's the best part of action movies. You don't have to pay attention to everything and you still get it. They are movies to unwind to with a glass of Chivas Regal after a hard day's work.

I don't watch a lot of movies but I remember trying to watch a james bond one time and like 10 minutes into the movie it was like i had already fell asleep and was half-dreaming, the shit did not make any sense.

If you are looking for an action movie with a strong narrative, engaging dialogue & pulse pounding action may I suggest that you look no further than Steven Seagal's magnum opus, 'Under Siege' (1992).

It is quality from start to finish.

The Lethal Weapon films are good too, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover had alot of funny humor and wit that went along with their action. The same thing with Die Hard. Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a vengeance were both better than the first one though.
