I cannot think of any if there was. I make sure to never promise anything because something might happen otherwise. I do feel lied to when someone changes what they said.
I think people generally accept that situations and beliefs change, and that "lying" is only when someone has an intent to mislead/misinform. Change of mind is not an intent to mislead/misinform.
And I think that generally, people consider "promises" to be "within the best of my abilities, I will do this". Unforseen circumstances out of your own control really don't constitute a lie.
I honestly don't know if I'll explain this in a way that makes sense to you. Not trying to be rude about it, I just don't think you view this as most people do.
I might interpet those things more literally than most people. It does make me skeptical of anything someone may say because I do not know if it will change.
It seems that way, yes. Aspie trait etc. I can understand why you would be sceptical in light of that line of thinking. Unfortunately, it is mostly unlikely to be people's intent.
I don't see any difference between lying and changing your mind.
