It is normal and logical when someone is presented with new facts that disprove their original belief, to alter those beliefs. There is nothing dishonest about that.
Someone who continues to argue a point after it has already been proven wrong to them is actually the person being dishonest, because they are aware of the truth and choose to ignore it.
I don't see any difference between lying and changing your mind.
