I don't like people competing with me iin?

I don't like mind games and especially when people try winning every battle with me. Some people can't hold a conversation without trying to show you up in some way, I can't compete in the intellectual arena and I don't try. yet they still go for it. It's annoying and makes me want to leave their presence. Win win win makes me want to shutdown on them. Do others feel this way?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • well listen to this and put it in your head so you can leave better:

  • Try not to take it too personally. People on the internet can be cruel without realizing what they are doing. There are many people who don't know any other way to communicate. Just because they can be a bigger asshole doesn't mean they are right, nor does it mean they are wrong.

There is no reason you can't just walk away from an argument.(Although I should sometimes take my own advice). I think walking away shows more restraint and certainly more respect.

  • i like it in smal doses. sometimes it gets intense and seems like everything you are doing/saying is trying to one up the other person, and thats annoying

  • There is probably something you are saying or doing that is pissing people off if a stream of them are relentless about calling you out on your shit.

At any rate, if you are content that you are right and that you have expressed yourself sufficiently, you always have the choice to just walk away if they are in your face or to just stop typing if they are on the Internet.

    Don't worry, be happy. :oD

    • I agree, I'm trying to think of any personal experience I've had with people where I felt I had to try to get them to understand something....what I come up with is a few examples of people I know who tend to repeat misinformation (stuff they read in an email forward, just outright incorrect info or urban myths, etc). It's aggrivating!! It's not a matter of stupidity so much as just thinking for yourself and being mindful of the source of your information!!

  • You seem quite interlectual to me, well compared to the idiots who can't even construct a proper sentence! Anyway, I agree with what's already been said, you don't have to be in the company of anyone you don't feel comfortable with talking to, you can always walk away. You seem content with what you want in life and people so good for you.

  • I'm very smart, and am yet to be beaten in any form of verbal debate, but I get no enjoyment out of outsmarting people unless they try to outsmart me first.

I think that people who are fine to go about their day without feeling the need to prove themselves are the sort of people who will make real friends, and a hell of a lot less enemies.

  • I meant in the outside world.

  • I enjoy the competition. Mostly because I have jack-shit to talk about with the other person; banter is always more interesting than silence or small talk.

  • no one wants to compete with anyone on a forum/posting site dumbass. fuckin weirdo

  • Well I like to debate, but not with rahtards; that's fruitless.

Not that I'm implying your stupid. A person who feels the need to "triumph" over a person who doesn't care for or even put up an argument, obviously...has some issues. To say the least. They are only smart when talking to stupid people.
