I use to have that problem. Only, it was that I didn't like to eat in front of boys. I was afraid they'd think I chew funny or something but since being with my current boyfriend for a year and a half, I have gotten over it completely.
Just no that you eat no differently than other people. No one is even going to notice. Because of what you said, they may only say, "Hey! You're eating!"
