So the other day I got called a soros shill who the hell is soros I keep hearing that name but I honestly don't know who it is.
I'm told that I'm getting payed to think or act a certain way by this guy.
really who is he and why do people keep bringing him up?
Referred to as spooky dude I believe. A billionaire hedge fund manager, and left wing nut job.
He wants to eradicate American sovereignty in favor of the World Bank and IMF.
He’s a billionaire living in the US. He openly and actively supports liberal causes and gives huge amounts of money to them. He put $18 billion in his Open Society Foundation, alone. There are all kinds of conspiracy theories claiming he uses his wealth to control public policy and politicians in the US and other countries. Some is probably true as he openly admits to much of his political involvement and financing.
Most wealthy people do influence our poltical system unfortunately but how is he any different from them.
Is it because he's liberal or something else?
No, I think he’d have this notoriety if he was supporting liberals or conservatives. I think all the attention he gets is partly just from the sheer amounts of wealth he throws into trying to control outcomes.
In addition to being highly intelligent, George Soros has a fascinating personality which prompted me to read his biography once. He has $8 billion net worth, and is involved in special political interests with decriminalization of marijuana, death with dignity, and independence for Kosovo being three of his most active efforts. He has a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and has made much of his money in Forex trading. Conspiracy theories abound regarding the intentions behind his hedge fund investing and philanthropic interests.
Never the recluse, Mr Soros has written several books. The Wikipedia article on his life gives a glimpse into the approach taken by socially responsible billionaires who have horizons the rest of us will never completely understand. It's a good read.
He's a guy who gets accused of financing any/all left leaning activities, and opinions.
