  • The words "fuck" and "shit" are vulgar and can be offensive. Usually--especially when used for the first time in a given context--the speaker who says these words is intending to impact the emotions of the listener. So, it is not surprising that you feel uncomfortable when you hear them, especially when they are said with emphasis or directed at you. (However, these words will lose their emotive impact when overused in a situation.)

You say these words too because it is natural to imitate others, in the use of language. That is how you learn language and communication; some argue that our brain is structured to facilitate this type of learning. The only way you can prevent saying these words is to make a conscious effort to do so; you have to watch yourself.

That said, it is useful to familiarize yourself with all the different meanings of the word, "fuck." I suspect it's the only word in the English language that can be used as a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, pronoun, and interjection.

  • Swear words relieve stress even better that substitutes!

If you're sensitive, you're sensitive and that's ok. Just recognize it so you can start protecting your emotions from it. In this day and age swears will be everywhere, so it will be pretty painfull if you are offended every time you hear one.

You don't ever have to say them if you don't want, and frankly people will probably appreciate your creative use of language: OH BUTTERBEANS! VS MOTHERFUCKER! that malarky always makes me giggle!

  • Swear words are stored in the right brain, which is why they evoke certain emotions, and why we use them. You have every right to feel any way you do about them.

  • theyre just words like the ones you read right now, society has put a bad label on them but its just the vibration of your vocal chords passing through your mouth, and saying bad words makes you feel better sometimes when you get mad or hurt or sad, its just another way to relieve stress
