Could you define "bad influences"? What is it about these friend or what you do with them that is "bad"? Please elaborate.
Obviously from your post your friend doesn't have a problem with alcohol and as far as marijuana is concerned the only real problem with it is that it's not legal unless ya'll live in Colorado or Washington.
Now if your new friends are into stealing, violence or hard drugs like crystal meth amphetamine, crack cocaine or other hard addictive drugs then I hate to break it to you but in such case your old "judgmental" friend would be right!
I wish you all the best but don't do anything stupid.
