I don't get Christopher Nolan. At all.

  • I don't think that he was embarrassed, that is just his style.

Those are the only 3 that I like though.

    • If he really wasn't embarrassed that he was making a superhero movie, why did he turn them into crime dramas? Why did he take such liberties with Bane's character? (A crucial part of his character, the Venom serum which made him a powerful, physical foe, was completely cut out)

One could argue that it's his style- and for while, I thought it was. But from watching this recent film, it showed me how little Nolan cares for Batman as a character and as a superhero, and he just wanted to make his own story and randomly put in Batman so that he could make a lot of money.

      • I still think it is just his style. He wanted to make it based more in real life. Which I like better than the cartoonish ones of the 1990's.

      • Batman isn't a superhero, Chris has done a fantastic job with that character. I haven't seen the third film yet but based off the trailer I don't think I like what he's done with Bane. However, I'll forgive him for it because The Joker & Dr Crane were perfect.

Overall I'd say Nolan has done a fantastic job with the Batman films, and although he won't be directing the Superman reboot, I believe his influence on the story will make the Man of Steel more popular than ever. I just wish Nolan was in charge of the Marvel movies.

        • Nolan better stay the hell away from Marvel movies.

          • Why? The Iron Man films have been good, ditto for The Avengers & X-Men First Class; but none of them have been great.

Look at the Wolverine film, surely you'd prefer Nolan to have done that at least? It was a disgraceful movie for one of Marvel's finest characters, absolutely atrocious.

            • Whedon > Nolan
              Favreau > Nolan
              Vaughn > Nolan
              Raimi > everybody

We don't talk about Wolverine much like we don't talk about the Green Lantern.

              • Avengers was cool, but that comment about Whedon is premature to say the least.

                Favreau isn't on Nolan's level.

Vaughn is a promising talent, but he isn't better than Nolan, maybe in the future, but not right now.

Raimi? No. Spiderman films weren't good enough for the best superhero ever. His other films aren't anything spectacular either.
