I don't get blackface

I understand the historical context and I get why black people get pissed at it and I don't get why some people insist on thinking it isn't that bad or keeps on doing it. My think is personally I don't really care for either side I think that the blacks are getting pissed at something that's clearly retarded and I don't care why anyone white would be so insistent on doing something retarded. I think both sides are retarded and I'm a black guy is this normal?

Please do your research. Blackface was used as comedy to white folks degraging black people. They would use tar and grease to imulate black skin. They would laugh as they compared us to money’s and joke about slavery. There’s just deep dark historical acts that don’t need to make there way back in 2019 and on.

Because black people complain about Everything...Though I may not fully understand the struggles my fellow blacks go through everyday(though most distance themselves from Africa) I feel like I should just support them for the culture..As an African,I may not even be socially affected by racism,Shit I don't even feel offended by blackface or racist remarks but I feel bad each time a black person goes through it..loyalty for the culture bruh,It's a black thing to do!

People used to use drag in order to portray women. The somewhat same is for black face. Yeah it’s pretty racist but at the end of the day all you did was make fun of them. As long as you ain’t in the lynching crowed I’m fine with it.

But what if the person says that they identify as black, and have always been black on the inside and their body doesn't reflect their mind? Are they still not allowed to paint their skin black and behave in a way that they would consider to be stereotypically "black"?

    Just saying that from a logical stand point I see zero quantifiable difference between someone "dressing up" as a different race, and someone "dressing up" as a different gender.
    
    Also men dressing up as women was a form of entertainment for donkey's years - they did it in Shakespeare's plays, they have and still do have dames as part of pantomime which are there purely to be the comic relief... so what's the difference?

Welp. Describing things as "retarded" is ridiculous. But, I'm pretty sure that they painted white people because Hollywood wouldn't pay to put black people on the big screen and it was a total mockery. I also don't really give a fart. It's a part of history. All we can do is be better. Have you looked up any of the old movies and shows they did it in? It's fucking absurd.

  Some do but a lot don't really think of that why some have this higher then thou art mentality and just want the whole blackface thing to stop and don't want to copy what the blackface crowd is doing.
