I don't consider all sex "making love"

Often, you will hear people using the word "love" as a synonym for sex. Personally, it has never sat right with me to call all forms of sex "love". I only consider it "making love" if it involves bonding with one another, both partners want it almost equally and it is in the context of a relationship spanning an indefinite period of time. Otherwise, to me, it's not making love. No, I don't think plain old fucking is wrong, but I don't consider it "making love". For example, I ran into some sex comic involving a woman seducing a man on his last day of vacation before flying off, and when she called her partner her "lover", my thoughts were "Please, that's your fuck buddy. You just met him like 1 hour ago".

Is it normal to think this way?

I use the word lover whether I love the person or not. If we have had an intimate relationship for awhile, I might use that word. Would I say that about a one night stand? No.

I never say "making love"... Sounds like something from an R&B song.
