its normal to have a whole range of reactions from all sorts of people , but to say "The reality is most people don't give a shit" insinuating that its just some small group of people who feel bad is just completely ignorant of the facts. there is a reason why over 10 million people visit the god damn place each year, its important. its neither normal nor abnormal to cry, as if you have a stronger connection to the place you may have a stronger emotion from it. but its completely normal to "give a shit" and or feel bad about it.

And if you didn't know that before the disaster, you would think someone would still understand why its a big deal it was destroyed once they learn about the place and not question why everyone cares. As an art history fan, I'm flashing back to abott suger's gothic architecture st. Denis theories on the idea of sculpting light & negative space...and how much that changed & influenced modern architecture & sculpture...not to mention the fact that seeing notre dame in person...its like seeing the Grand Canyon. Pictures are nothing compared to reality & you even forget the scale & awesomeness till you see it again & are floored the second time.

Read it through. You're right that my comments may have diverged into overall statements to the whole post rather than your specific comments. I definitely got a bit heavy handed with fast typing probably getting redundant at times. I suppose I find some of the views on this post absurd in my opinion. By mixing insult in i guess you have a right to just not address any of my points or see and validity in even the good ones...in which if i said them calmly you probably would of seen some light in them. anyway shun away~ at the end of the day though... its a big deal that Notre dam caught on fire, its painfully obvious..
