I don’t get how catcalling is offensive

I’m a girl and I find catcalling and wolf whistling very flattering and it’s nice to know that guys find me attractive. I don’t get how other girls find it threatening or harassing and I will happily engage in a flirty conversation with any guy who is attracted to me. Maybe I’m just a shameless attention seeker but I really can’t see why other girls are so bothered by it.

I presume so, lurking in the shadows with 3 separate porns playing across his other 3 monitors.

It’s that some men feel obligated to interrupt a woman’s day just so he can get attention is why it’s obnoxious

Because those guys are not attractive. They are not considerate and kind of gross. The behavior is disrespectful. They only see the woman as an trophy or something to obtain, not as a person. I am not some soapbox feminist but it does objectify women.

    Everything is offensive nowadays.

Cat calling is a crime in my country now, lol.

As a guy when I see it I get a mixture of emotions. It’s cringey to me, it seems shallow, but then I also admire the balls and confidence cos I surely couldn’t do it. I remember a feminist I worked with getting furious cos sale solicitors outside our shop were catcalling female shoppers, using their job as an excuse to approach women and hit on them
I think it certainly depends on the woman and in some cases it could be flattering but if you were a woman that was catcalled and then you wait around 10 minutes and you see them do it to like 20 other women in that time it does lose some validity

It’s a personal opinion. I find it offensive, because I don’t fucking want someone to mock grab my ass and whistle at me. Sorry :|

  • Picture it: You're walking down town, doing some shopping, eating lunch with friends, it's your day off. Except every time you turn a corner, some random guy whistles like it's supposed to impress you. Now maybe you're okay with that, but I'm not when it's just some slob who is actively approaching me trying to get Peter to go swimming!

People always shame traditional women like theyre sooo much of a problem. Do you. Its ok to be how u are. Dont let the "powerful independent women" tell you you're wrong. Theyre just angry and ugly inside and out. You'll never see a hot feminist.

Unless it involves actually calling real feline housecats I honestly have always despised the whole catcalling thing, because it just feels awful, and I don't enjoy being made to feel like a piece of meat.

I’m female and when I was younger it was still something that happened at times. It was technically considered sexual harassment but was before the days of CCTV every 100 yards, and camera phones hadn’t even been thought of never mind invented. I used to walk past this huge construction site on my way to work when I was about 18, I would often receive a wolf whistle or cheeky comment from some builder on the scaffolding. I never found it offensive and would often shorten my skirt or leave an extra button undone on my blouse before walking past. I would always respond with a smile or the occasional comment in return. I personally think the women that found it offensive were mainly the ones too ugly to get whistled at.

  • Women are weird. In one sense they want you to be attracted to them but not to voice your attraction and then in the other they'll use their attraction to get something from you (like drinks in a bar) and will be insulted if you don't fall for it.

Personally I've never engaged in catcalling, I've had it done to myself a few times and I do think a man that does it just isn't composing himself in an attractive manner but we all have to agree that as much as there are assholes catcalling there are women out there constantly blurring the lines on these social rules.

As a female I don’t put up with it, I’m flattered sometimes but it depends on the mood, if I’m attracted to the guy ill engage in a flirty conversation, but if I’m not I just ignore them or tell them to fuck off. Men who catcall are mostly old jerks who never learned to respect women. (In my experiences). If you’re into it tho have no shame & flirt!!

Never done it myself. I'll whisper shit to myself when I see a hot chick...but calling out like a trashy, desperate loser is just lame as fuck.

I fully believe it is normal. It's better to enjoy life than be offended over such things. You may message me if you'd like... I feel attracted to you already. 😚

I feel the same as you. Some girls feels like they are doing it to mock them. Others may be in a relationship and overreact a bit. The you have the shit stirring feminists who wanna ruin a dude’s day.

Usually on these posts when they claim to be a woman they mean MtF trans woman - par for the course, in that case. Otherwise, you must be severely lacking in any qualities.

You got me, I've browsed that sub a couple times. I'm not saying all trans people are fetishists, but as a 'crossdreamer' myself who almost got pulled into that whole thing, I gotta say it's harmfully over-diagnosed (as are many other mental illnesses). There are plenty of trans women who talk about how much they like getting cat-called as it validates their identity.

Ok lesson dont press the home key before your post is fully posted uhg.

Honestly though dropthet isn't all bad. I reccomend checking out true bisexuals on reddit. They seem pretty chill. Little silly in there stance but they are chill from what I've seen.

Some of us are trully trans. Though alot of us are just psychos. It's not an easy workday we live in Haha

Female logic - complain when you're catcalled, complain when you're not catcalled.

You do you and fuck what people think. You go against the grain and that's attractive in it's own right.

If I were to approach a girl I found attractive I would need a few strong drinks to settle the nerves 1st. Ironically that makes me less attractive myself but by the sounds of it you're pretty easy-going and so I wouldn't have to.

Girls and women are not really offended by catcalling or flirtatious activities. They are offended when the men who do it are not the "type" that they want to attract or like. If it was someone that they like, they will eat it up and tell all of their friends how hot the guy thought she was.
