    Just tell yourself that they are not making it to make you feel bad but that they really mean good. It's just a song and it doesn't last two minutes. Just fake a smile and say thank you.

      Yes I tried that, I know they are well meaning. It still feels kind of dumb and awkward though.

      I just wanna cut straight to the cake part.
