If that's the only way u can go number 2 then I think it's cleaner than going on the floor. But I don't know if you're aware of health laws. If you're having a problem as big and serious as this one, then u may have some legal rights to get the toliet fixed or better yet, replaced. I would research it. Call the health department. In the meantime, I don't see what you're doing as wrong. U know the old saying, when u gotta go, u gotta go.
