I chose sprint did i make the right call?

How much do you pay for the actual phone usage? I may be misreading, but it sounded like $15 was for the physical phone, not calls/texts/data.

I use Straighttalk in the US. I pay $45 a month for unlimited talk and text and 10GB of data, I believe. Slight discount if I buy 3mths in advance. $60 a month for all that plus international calls. And apparently it uses whatever tower is closest, regardless of who owns it, which is handy with rural living.

I hope USA eventually gets Aldi mobile like I have in Aus. I pay $35 for 30 days, and get unlimited calls and texts in Aus, 10GB data, plus unlimited international calls to 15 countries and 200mins of calls to 35 others and rollover data. There are larger and smaller packs, too. Downside is it uses a shitty primary provider network, and my house is a black hole for cell reception. Wifi works ok, at least.

Both with BYO phone. USA phone cost $80. Aus cost $299. I would have preferred just to use the one phone with different sim card, but my original phone died en route to USA last year, and my USA phone is locked to Straighttalk for 12mths of usage and I had only used one when I went back to Aus. So annoying.

Yeah I loved Sprint, had the framily plan back in the day. Everyone that joined dropped our bill by $5. Was great, but my job took me out of the city. If you can't see a building over three stories tall you lose coverage.

Awesome, as long as you don't ever venture out of metropolitan areas.
