You're going to be 18, which is old enough to make up your own mind about whether you're going chill out or whoop it up.
Although, by the whiny tone of your post, it seems like (deep down) you actually DO want to celebrate your birthday, it's just that you're not willing to celebrate it unless it's EXACTLY like how YOU want it. That's fine. It does seem a little childish and dramatic the way you're explaining this to your family. Makes me think you're not really turning 18, but maybe 15.
Tip of the day: When you enter the full-time workforce, don't expect to get a day off for your birthday - nobody cares.
The trick perhaps is to take OWNERSHIP of your day.
I remember one year my birthday was pretty much ruined because I waited all day for one friend to show up who ditched out. yes he had a valid reason for ditching but ... he never told me in the first place.
So after that I decided my birthday was my day to do what I wanted to and I would NOT wait around for anyone like that ever again.
The following year I had a ME day for my birthday... I went out shopping at the mall, bought a gift for Mom's B'day. I went to the book store and spent as much time as I wanted. Then I went out for dinner.
It was fun because it was a quiet day but... I did what *I* wanted to do, and spent as much time as I wanted on it.
The year after that I spent my birthday at the mall again and got a glamour shot done. :)
Now that I'm with my boyfriend he often tries to make it a nice day for me too which is sweet. And I try to make his birthday fun too. :-)
i cant handle my birthdays

That sounds very reasonable.
