Ask Your Question
Is it normal that I can't stand being touched other than by my wife or by small children in my family? I don't even want to shake hands with people. It's disgusting to me.
It's your right to do as you please.
Refusing to shake hands is gross disrespect. I insulted and dismissed a job candidate at my company just for that.
Be a bubble boy in your safe place, or whatever hole you retreat to, but when you are with people, show the proper respect for the proper situation.
I sell cars for a living, I've had to sit close to some pretty odd characters and if they buy the car, I shake their hand, tell them they've made a great deal and give them a friendly pat on the back, even if they look like Shrek's shit. I do it for the sake of the car dealership image and out of respect for my customers. Cause they are the ones that put food on my table.
I'm not sure. I don't like germs, but I think it's more about being offended by people invading my space.
Same, I don't see the use in touching others, not even family. The only exception would be when I fight others. other than that it's just weird
Some people just don't like other's hand on them, either full-body or parts. My older sister loves massages, like oil and hot stone, but..Nobody, ever, touches her feet. Not even in joking. She freaks out. I've done it to her several times just to get her going, but other than that..She hates having her feet touched. Does her own very long-nails manicure, and may do her toes, but never has a pedicure.
I think how I feel about someone touching me depends on who that someone is. My cat, and my sisters toy poodle are on the top of my list for those I enjoy being touched by, and recieving affection from to tell you the truth.
I don't like being touched but I'll still shake somebody's hand or give a hug when needed. Life will be very difficult if you refuse to touch anybody.
