I can't read hand written cursive very well

I feel like everyone else can read hand written cursive better than I can. It takes me forever and usually come across words that look like scribbles to me. Computer generated cursive I can read fine but human generated? No

Cursive overall produced poor handwriting. People forget writing was meant to serve as a communication tool not an art tool.

  • I don't get why cursive is even a thing, with the exception of signature usage.

Rarely does hand written cursive even look fancy/good. It looks like a careless scrawl.

But I am a little salty, because I barely know how to use cursive.

I knew of many people in my highschool that didn't know who write in cursive...I don't know if they knew how to read it. But I was taught how to write it in elementary school and I can write and read it just fine...I think it's an acquired skill. But I do know of some old cursive (19th century), that I find it hard to read...they just write it so differently.

I understand. Part of it is because people ignore the actual way some letters should be spelled and just write whatever they think is fancier, like adding a random squiggle.

Some people have really poor penmanship.
