Have you gently tried this with one finger rather than fingers? How many fingers are you trying to insert? Do you lubricate?
Also, many women (maybe most) are far more stimulated by giving attention to the external genitals, the labia and clitoris. It's not necessary for orgasm to have your vagina actually penetrated, especially if you're a virgin.
Personally, although I enjoy penetration with my male lover and have enjoyed finger penetration in the past with female lovers, my strongest orgasms when I'm by myself only very rarely involve penetration.
