I believe that curse words should never be censored
I have always not agreed with bleeping out curse words or forbidding them from being said. I am not offended by curse words unless they are directed at me. I am very offended when they are bleeped out or starred out. I despise this for any reason. I don't agree with not being allowed to say them on the radio, television, or in the courtroom. I'd much rather them be treated like normal words such as the words I am typing.
I have been cursing since I was 5, but only after I turned 18 have I done it so openly because I feared punishment. I use nearly every word except for using God's name in vain, but if people want to that is their choice. I would not censor them either. Kids will eventually learn about cursing at some point, so the excuse for censorship of "Protecting the children" is not valid. You can only delay the inevitable for so long. They might not curse util they are 18, or they may learn it by kindergarten. It really makes no difference. I also don't like the filters being on by default on things such as translation, chat and other voice apps.
On some channels, especially Teenick, any possible type of their definition of an inappropriate reference is blanked out in their shown music videos. This includes words like: wine ,tequila, and white lines in the music video for "Bad at Love" by Halsey. I just don't understand what benefit this is serving. You can't dance to a song that is a forth of the way blanked out. Just have a talk with your kids about drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. telling them what you think about it and give them guidance. There is no need for all this offensive censorship. I have always been a big advocate for youth rights and the right to say, hear, and see what you want. There is always a right and wrong thing to do, but people should be able to choose with regard to these things.
