You might want to consider that this isn't fiction, and what you're saying is incredibly appalling. I honestly don't understand how anyone with an ounce of empathy could feel this way.
If I misunderstood and you're just a history buff, that's obviously normal. Although I still don't understand getting "excited." I personally get depressed when reading about innocent people being tortured and killed in masses.
