I asked a North Korean what life is like there. He said, "I can't complain". haha...
Now with the joke out of the way...
There are plenty of conditions that are based on delusions.
Well like they tell men that the reason for their erectile dysfunction is because of broken down blood vessels. Of course it has nothing to do with their wife being some old fat ugly hag. Bring in a 21 year old cheerleader and see if his E.D. persists.
Or this whole autism or ADD bullshit. They tell kids they have that when they get bored and restless in school. It has nothing to do with subjecting a child to an environment that resembles the corporate world.
Or depression. They tell people they have that and then get them hooked on anti depressants. Can't we just tell the "depressed" that if they don't like their lives, work to change it.
But no, in all three cases they pump them full of meds.
So why shouldn't transgenders get the same treatment, for good or bad? In most cases, the TG person has to pay for their own treatments so why does anyone else give a damn?
I know lots of kids are misdiagnosed with ADHD/ADD, but at least for me, it has nothing to do with not being bored. I love to learn, but most of the time I am not capable of completing tasks ( finishing laundry loads, washing EVERY dish, putting away groceries, taking off my shoes, brushing my teeth twice a day, finishing fun and creative work assignments, getting myself to eat 3 meals a day)
I would disagree with labelling of any of those conditions that you previously outlined as fundamentally delusional though. There are often physical problems relating to ED, some people with autism are quite genuinely and obviously suffering from a mental illness, people with depression often have crtical levels of seratonin, etc, etc
I would say that absolutely a transgender person should be able to do what they want. If they want to slice off their testicles if they feel like a woman, or stick their hands in dry ice until they fall off if they believe they're disabled then they should have the right to do so, even otherkin should be able to get surgery to make them look like a wolf or whatever if they want to, that's freedom.
I just don't think the way to "help" with what they're going through, by and large, is for society to reaffirm their identity, and if someone asks me for my opinion on what do in one of those situations then I would advise, as I did, not to head down the path of non-reality.
I am TG myself and have known other ones, reassuring them that they are "really men" doesn't help.
They do have to go through therapy and live at least one year full time before getting surgeries. There is a complicated process.
It is not a simple matter of going to the doc one day and saying "Chop off my chin slappers and one-eye'd liar!" and it is done, unlike getting a tooth extracted.
So basically, the loony toons who are not really TG cannot easily get such a drastic surgery.
That's not actually true, and it's obvious that you're biased against trans people just by looking at your comments. Having said that, it wouldn't matter either way. For the people who continue to have gender dysphoria, transitioning may be the right choice for those ones.
Fair enough; I'm sure it works for some people; I still think by and large it's not the healthy option, but I respect you point and "Chop off my chin slappers and one-eye'd liar!" had me creasing, dude
Nah I'm just reminding people to use common sense. If you still have a 40% suicide rate, whatever you did didn't work. People shouldn't need me to tell them that.
Idk man, I didn't want to be rude, but you know when you go and see, lets say, your uncle with Alzheimer's, and you realise he's just to far gone to fix so you just agree with him that aunty Jill is still alive and the just won a bunch of green on the ponies? I think for some of them they're essentially beyond the realms of rational treatment so the best thing to do is just lie and agree with them when you're around them.
I believe i have gender dysphoria i don't know what to do

I am Male myself and the research I've seen disagrees with you.
Particularly in that a majority of those who experience gender dysphoria grow out of it.

It is true. Just like it's true that transitioning does not improve the suicide rate.

So why are some trans people suicide before transitioning and then not afterwords?

I see what your saying but I don't agree. Feeding the delusion of gender dysphoria is not the best thing to do in any situation.
