I seem to be the only person who will listen to these 'charity cases' and then they become infatuated with me until I almost get rude by saying Hi and moving on quickly. My husband calls them 'basket cases' and wonders where the next one is coming from.
You need to get selfish and don't waste a good night out listening to someone's problems! Give them 5 minutes to either make you laugh or buy you a drink ... or move away!! That's my philosophy now!
