What I have found over the years is that people judge according to their own standards. Meaning that if you are open and honest with the best of intentions, a gossip with malicious intent will assume you to have the same motive as themselves. I have since learned to keep council with few trusted friends and the rest are mere acquaintances. Let them learn by your example
