Jews have been, since their departure out of Egypt and into the land of Israel, a people under the rule of a larger cultural context, therefore, this Jewish exclusivism that everyone complains about is just a sociological adaptation by the Jewish communities that were exiled to retain their heritage and religion. However, one must also take into consideration that the Judaism of today isn't the Judaism that was born in the land of Israel during the first Temple period in the 1st millenium BC. Anyone with the knowledge of Jewish society and culture would know that the rabbis only succeeded in gaining authority within the Jewish communities of Babylonia, then, Palestine and its adjoining regions after the second temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. So, today's Judaism is an evolution of the original faith. All this was necessary for the Jews because, until recently, they never had a nation-state to call their own. Now that they do many people don't agree with it. I personally don't mind, but I don't like it that thousands of Palestinians are killed because a few stupid one's launch primitive rockets into Israel which kills a few people. Nonetheless, people on both sides are dying.
This talk about the Holocaust and how Jews are using it to their advantage by commercializing it and therefore making themselves look like a pity case is ridiculous. This is modern society, people will turn almost any modern event into a movie, show, musical...etc. Its normal and its not wrong to do so.
As for the Jews economic success that everyone is so furious about: its because the Jews have for so long been a tight-knit community keeping in contact with others abroad, thereby forming communal trading posts all over the world. Its not their fault history led them in this direction.
I'm a Muslim myself and I don't think I'm insulting or degrading Jews in anyway with this post. I'm merely stating the facts that are true.
very good response with compassion and understanding..
most individuals have the opportunity to secure a good education and proceed in life from the vantage point of a successful career. however, it all begins at home, how a person is nurtured and what value systems are instilled during the early years through adolescence.. within the jewish community, generally, education was and is stressed as very important for a foundation towards worldy success.
currently, the best achievers in public and private schools ( NYC area ) and perhaps elsewhere , are the asian, indian students. grounded in strong familial ties and support, they move on to successful careers .
What i'm trying to point out here is that education and opportunity are open to most everyone...it's all up to that person to take advantage and succeed in life.
OK true, not everyone has this opportunity and not everyone is brought up in stable homes... BUT if one wants to get ahead it's all a matter of effort and hard work..
Look at oneself first and make the best of what one has and achievement can be accomplished.
Jewish people, for the most part, study and work hard for their success..it's not freely given..
I am completely fed up with the fact that Jews elevate
