I am afraid of harmless moths, is this normal?

So, there's a moth in my room. A normal sized moth that is harmless. I've spent an hour trying to catch it but always fail because I'm afraid of it and I'm alone. Every time it starts flying after I miss my cloth throw I freak out and I don't know what to do! I've moved to the living room for the night, because I can't enter my room without feeling skittish. I don't know where it is now and last time I saw it, it was near my bed. I'm too afraid to check under the bed.
I don't know why I feel like this, it happens to me when I see any kind of insect. Is this normal???
Also I have no idea how Im supposed to catch the moth, I actually don't want to kill it, is there a way to catch the moth without killing it? I still don't know where it is.

I had a canopy bed when I was growing up and there was a little, furry, black spider who lived in the frame. We lived together in peace and harmony for years.

I do have a near pathological hatred of cockroaches, however my last encounter has me feeling ponderous.

So how long will you wait to go in your room again. If you never find it is your room forever off limits? What's an acceptable amount of time?

        • I slept in the living room for two days until I finally found the moth, it went to the hallway light, luckily I caught in in a bowl without it flying at me. I let it outside.

            • Since I only saw 1 moth and it was the same size I assumed it was the same one. Nothing has come out in a week so I doubt there's another one in here.
