I hate it when people do things like this. You just have to learn to control what you say and be more sensitive to his feelings. You know what he likes so keep doing it but the best thing in the long run is to be more calm and careful about what you say in the future. You love him, so don't try and dominate him in an argument by hitting below the belt.
