I've had dreams like that too. I'm not going to comment on whether it's normal though, I've never asked anyone about it. I think it has to do with repressed emotions ... so, maybe you are secretly homicidal, but more likely you just don't express certain sides of yourself in real life, and then in your dreams they come out in very intense ways. You really don't know though? It's strange that you have dreams like that but don't understand at all where they're coming from. It sounds like a pretty powerful emotion.
