I don't think age has anything to do with it. I've been biting my nails since I was about 5, it's been well over a decade. If you want to stop biting your nails, often willpower isn't enough.
The nail polish that tastes bad doesn't work for me. Something that covers your hands or nails completely will probably be the best way to go. You'll have to stop biting your nails for a few months till the habits gone.
